Designed specifically for the public transit industry and built on an “Open Architecture” platform, the TSI Nexus video recorders are meeting the needs of our customers across North America. Whether you are a large transit system operating 1000’s of buses across multiple facilities, or a small agency operating just a few vehicles, TSI has a solution to meet your needs.
Nexus – Hybrid Video Recorder (HVR)
TSI’s industry leadingNexus-HVR mobile hybrid video recorder supports up to 32 channels of HD (IP) video, or up to 12 analog camera inputs, or any related combination of HD and analog. Additionally, Nexus-HVR supports up to 8 channels of audio with analog cameras, or 32 channels of audio for HD (IP) cameras. Utilizing an “Open-Architecture” design TSI HVR can interface to virtually any camera in the industry today. The Nexus-HVR is a great option for customers who would like to upgrade their onboard video solution but may not want to invest in a full retrofit of hardware.
Beyond video and audio, the Nexus-HVR serves as a central hub for the collection of metadata such as GPS latitude/longitude/speed, up to 12 discrete inputs, accelerometer (G-Force) readings, and optional interfaces to other on-board systems. All data is stored on an integrated removable dual disk drive, with up to 16TB’s of solid-state storage if needed. Security measures include a keyed on/off switch and locking hard drive to prevent tampering.
The Nexus-HVR also supports a full suite of wireless viewing and download/upload capabilities over any type of IP-based wireless network. When integrated with TSI’s NexView software, the Nexus-HVR is the mobile solution of choice for the discerning transit agency.
Just like all TSI products our latest onboard video recorder, the Nexus-NVR mobile network video recorder has been specifically designed for the Public Transportation market. The Nexus-NVR supports up to 32 channels (cameras) of IP video; the first 8 cameras are connected through an embedded/integrated 8 port PoE switch and if desired up to 24 additional cameras through PoE switches that can be attached via a “daisy-chain” configuration. In addition to video, the Nexus-NVR supports audio on each IP channel for any camera that has embedded audio in the camera.
Beyond video and audio, the Nexus-NVR serves as a central hub for the collection of metadata such as GPS latitude/longitude/speed, up to 6 discrete inputs, accelerometer (G-Force) readings, and optional interfaces to other on-board systems. All data is stored on an integrated removable dual disk drive, with our standard 2TB’s of solid-state storage on a dual drive configuration, or up to 16TB’s of solid-state storage if desired. Security measures include a keyed on/off switch and locking hard drive to prevent tampering.
SSD Storage Media
A key feature of the TSI Nexus suite of recorders is our exclusive Hybrid Data Management System (HDMS). TSI’s HDMS is a unique dual drive configuration that comes with considerable flexibility in various solid state driver sizes, styles and configuration options.
Each drive case consists of dual internal SSD 2.5-inch format drives. Utilizing a dual drive configuration provides redundancy within the drive. Standard configuration of a TSI SSD would include (2) drives of the same size, configured as a single SSD drive with failover drive configuration.
Failover drive configuration automatically manages the failure of a single internal drive by 1) automatically switching over to the second internal drive, 2) illuminating the red LED on the LED status unit – indicating a drive failure, and 3) reporting the drive failure to TSI’s NexView software over the next wireless download of status data.
